About us

We are a small family farm located in Fort Lupton, Colorado.  Mike grew up a 3rd generation farmer in Milliken, CO and has been doing something farm-like his whole life. Jessica started farming after moving to Colorado from Georgia in 2002 to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences at CSU. We have no employees and simply depend on family and friends to help with the cows when needed.

About our happy cows

We raise quality, happy, grass-fed, grass-finished Red Angus/Herford cross and registered Herford beef. This means that our cows never see a feed lot and spend their lives in the pasture where they were born. They are never fed grain supplements, growth promoting hormones, steroids, or antibiotics, except as prescribed by our veterinarian to treat an illness. Grass fed beef is different from the beef found at your typical grocery store meat counter.  Grass feeding improves the quality of beef, produces beef with less total fat, and makes the beef richer in omega-3 fats, vitamin E, beta-carotene, and conjugated linoleic acid.

Our herd was founded in 2009 and we still have many of the original cows. This is accomplished by our use of natural breeding practices which include the use of registered Hereford herd bulls that are rotated periodically. Our careful record keeping ensures that our beef lineage is clean. Our cows are docile, are great mothers, and their calm nature is evident in the taste of the beef.
